Gold Glitz Star

At my Catalog Kick off Party way back at the beginning of June, I had a New Catalog Scavenger Hunt for people to participate in.  I had fun watching them search through the new catalog for the answers to the 15 questions I had and even more fun watching and listening to them speculate on the answer of the bonus question...What is Lisa's favorite new In Color!  Only 2 people got it right...Blackberry Bliss!  Everyone that participated was promised a sparkly prize.

I surprised them with this fun little prize in with their orders!  They each got a container of the new Gold Glitz Dazzling Details.  I packaged them up in 4x6 Cello Bags tied with some new Night of Navy Seam Binding (I am SO excited about this color of seam binding!) and attached a simple circle tag!

The stamp I used is from a special demonstrator stamp set and I thought it was perfect for this occasion!  I stamped the image with Night of Navy ink on Whisper White cardstock and then punched it out with the 1 3/4" Circle punch.  I finished it off by adding some of the Gold Glitz to two of the stars!

Simple, sweet and fun!  Have an inspired day!

Designer Series Paper Mini Pouches

Happy Thursday everyone!  Today  I have another of my convention swaps to share.  I always have cards to swap, but I really love swapping little 3D projects the most, so I make sure to have some at every event!

This year I travelled to convention with 3 of my friends and we drove!  It's about a 12 hour drive for us and it's always so fun to road trip with them...so fun that it doesn't really feel like it takes 12 hours!!!!  This year I didn't drive so I prepped my swaps to make in the car on the way!

My traveling swap making shop!!!!
The only downside is the curvy, mountain roads that we drive on part of the way...beautiful scenery, not so conducive for swap assembly!!!

My inspiration for this project came from my good friend Becky Roberts.  She had posted these darling little pouches on her blog a while back and I fell in love!

The pouch on the left was made with the All Abloom DSP stack, which is what I used for my swaps.  The one on the right was made with the Moonlight DSP stack and is the version my stamp club members did this month.

The pouch is pretty basic and uses 1 full sheet of DSP from the little stacks (so, a 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 piece).  After doing the scoring, folding and sticking, I ran them through the Big Shot with the Finishing Touches Edgelit. I will admit that I bought those Edgelits a loooong time ago and had never used them until this project....rest assured they will be used more now!!!!

Here's a little template I drew up so you can make these super cute pouches at home!

Basically you score at 1, 1 1/2 and 2, 4, 4 1/2 and 5.  Then turn your DSP and score at 1/2". I've marked the parts you need to cut off on the template!  Easy peasy!

Park Lane Starburst Technique

Hi everyone!  Today I'm going to share a super fun  and easy technique that is perfect for using up scraps of Designer Paper!

At my last Stamp & Share with my downline we learned about the Starburst technique and made some cards with it.  Everyone loved it so I decided to share it with my clubs this month too!

Here's a little step-by-step for you:
  • start with 4 or 5 scraps of DSP cut to 1 1/2 x 4
  • cut your rectangles of DSP on the diagonal so that you end up with 2 triangles
  • place your triangles on your cardstock so they look like a starburst or sunburst.
  • embellish and finish your card
And, I did up a quick video for you too so you can see the card come together!

Here's one more example of this technique.  This one uses the Moonlight DSP stack.

This is such a fun technique.  Give it a try and let me know how it turns out for ya!

Until the end of July, DSP is on sale!  For every 3 packs you purchase you get an additional pack FREE!  So, head on over to my online store with the shopping list and place your order today.  Don't forget to use the hostess code CZKJ2ZAD for a chance to win a pack of washi tape!

All Abloom Lots of Thanks

Happy Sunday!  I'm on my way back from the annual Stampin' Up! convention and I am exhausted!  My brain is FULL of fabulous ideas, I saw so many of my stamping friends that I don't get to see very often, I made new stamping friends and had a GREAT road trip with my girls!

Today I'm sharing a super simple card with you that my clubs did in June.  A version of this card ended up being one of my swap cards for convention.  You may be asking, "Swap card Lisa?  What's that?"!  Whenever demonstrators get together we swap card fronts.  It's like trading ideas....and I'm coming home with a bunch that I can't wait to display at my events for the next little while!

I love so many things about this card...the color combination (Daffodil Delight, Mossy Meadow & Island Indigo), the DSP (All Abloom), the layout and the simplicity of it!  It's a basic Crumb Cake card base with a little bit of stamping.  I used the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set to make the splatters as well as the strip of diagonal lines.  There's a scrap of DSP (All Abloom) along the bottom and also a strip of Daffodil Delight cardstock.  I added some white Baker's Twine and then made a medallion to hilight my sentiment (from Lots of Thanks).  I love the look of the piece cut with the Starburst framelit to mat the circles.  It's nice to have a great circle shape that's not a scallop!

You can find everything you need to make this card in my online store.  Head on over there with the shopping list and place your order today!

Flashback Gusseted Pouch

Today I want to share some special swaps that I made for convention.  I always do up some swaps for general swapping and then a few special ones for my good friends!

While surfing Pinterest one evening, I came across the cutest little gusseted pouches made by Diane Barnes over at Color Me Happy!  She's a Stampin' Up! demonstrator in Australia!  I followed her basic instructions pretty closely and only made one change.  Here's what I came up with.

I love how they turned out!  I used the Flashback DSP again for these (I'm loving this DSP....the colors, the designs...I just love it!).

Here's some basic measurements and instructions:
  • start with a 6x6 piece of DSP
  • line it up at 2 1/4", punch and score (on the envelope punch board)
  • line it up at 3 1/4", punch and score
  • turn the DSP 90 degrees, line up the first score line with the guide, punch and score
  • line up the second score line with the guide, punch (don't score)
  • turn the DSP 90 degrees, line up at 2 1/4", punch and score
  • line it up at 3 1/2", punch and score
  • turn the DSP 90 degrees, line up the first score line with the guide, punch and score
  • line up the second score line with the guide, punch (don't score)
You then fold it up and embellish.  I have a video for you to follow too with all the little extras I did.  Before I show you that, let me show you what I put in them!

Each pouch has 2 mint patties which I prettied up with some punched cardstock and DSP.  So cute!

Here's the video tutorial.

For the month of July, Designer Paper is on sale.  Buy 3, Get 1 FREE!  I used the Flashback DSP for this project, but there are so many fun options with DSP this year that I'm sure you will have no problem choosing 4...or 8, or 12!!!!!  Head on over to my online store and order some DSP today.  Don't forget to use the hostess code CZKJ2ZAD so you can be entered to win some washi tape!

Have an inspired day!

Inspire. Create. Share. 2014

As you are reading this I am on my way to sunny Salt Lake City for Stampin' Up!'s annual convention.  I am so excited to be on a road trip with some good friends and so excited to see my friends from across North America that I don't get to see very often!

One of the things I do every convention is make a little gift for my downline that are attending.  This year I spoiled them!

They each got a little package with a notebook and pen, altered first aid kit, bag tag and a little jar of goodies to snack on!

The notebook is covered with Flashback DSP and some Hello Honey ribbon.  I stamped "creative" along the ribbon...that creative is from a special convention set I got a couple years ago!  You can see how I altered the notebook here.  The pen is an RSVP pen that I rolled some DSP (again, the Flashback DSP) up into the barrel.  I love doing this with my pens...it's an easy way to make cute pens and then I know when people steal my pens because they are unique!!!!

The tags were cut from DSP (Flashback) covered chipboard.  I used the new Bigz die Party Pennants.  I love that the pennants come in 2 sizes on this die!  It's embellished with some punched pieces (colors from the Flashback DSP....Pool Party, Real Red, Hello Honey) and then each one has their initial on it.  I used the Perfect Print Alphabet Bigz die for that.  It's finished off with a piece of Hello Honey ribbon so they can tie it to their bags.  And, they now have a cute way to distinguish their bags in the sea of 3000 bags that are all the same!

I found these super cute little travel first aid kits when I was getting groceries at Superstore one day!  They come in a white plastic container and have all the essentials for minor first aid stuff like paper cuts and blisters (the most common convention injuries!).  The container was easy to alter with some more Flashback DSP and then a belly band made from cardstock.  The belly band was made with the Angled Tag Topper punch and tied shut with some of the new cotton ribbon in Real Red.  We're gonna have the cutest first aid kits around!

And, of course they needed some treats!  I got these cute little jars from someone selling leftover wedding favor stuff and they are perfect for this sort of thing.  I filled them with some gummies and then added a DSP (Flashback) circle to the lid.  It's finished off with a piece of cotton ribbon, this time in Pool Party.

And, here it is all packaged up cute and ready for them to get....

Don't you just love it?!?!?!  Everything but the notebook fit in these cute little plastic berry containers I also found on my Superstore grocery shopping trip!  Because the notebook didn't fit, I placed the berry container on top of the notebook and tied the two together with some of the awesome new Crushed Curry Striped Grosgrain.

Now that you've seen a lot of the patterns from the Flashback DSP pack, make it one of the ones you get this month with the sale!  DSP is buy 3 get 1 free for the month of July and with so many gorgeous DSP's to choose from you may even want to get them all...you know, buy 6 get 2 free or buy 9 and get 3 free!!!!

Head on over to my online store and order your DSP today!  Don't forget to use the hostess code CZKJ2ZAD when placing your order so you can be entered to win a pack of washi tape!

Have an inspired day!

Doin' the Tangelo Twist

I will admit that Tangelo Twist is my least favorite In Color this year.  It's an orange thing...I just have a hard time with orange!  But, it's a great color for masculine cards...especially boy birthday cards which I seem to need a LOT of!  ;)

I started this card with a piece of Whisper White which I stamped with Tangelo Twist and the Chevron stamp.  I built from there trimming and matting with Night of Navy and finally putting it on a Tangelo Twist card base.  The Happy Birthday's are from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set and I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to get them in line down the card!  I stamped a Tangelo Twist one on some scrap and just cut it out with scissors and matted it on some Night of Navy.  It's put on the card with Stampin' Dimensionals so it has a little "pop"!  I finished off the card with 3 Night of Navy stars which I punched with the new Itty Bitty Accents Punches.

Here's a little video about the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig so you can see how easy it is to work with!

You can find everything you need to create this card in my online store.  Head over there with the shopping list and place your order today!

Mossy Meadow Mini Canvas

A few weeks ago I held my Inspired by Ink Stamp & Share.  It's a day where I get together with my girls on my team and we stamp, we share, we laugh, we eat....I could go on, but you get the idea!  It really is a great day....even though this last time it was POURING rain!

Like I mentioned, we stamp and part of our day consists of make & takes.  This time around we did an In Color mini canvas for one of our make & takes.

We started by spritzing the canvas with a mixture of Mossy Meadow ink and water (mixed together in a Stampin' Spritzer).  Then we cut out flowers using all of the new In Colors and the new Floral Frenzy die.  A little scrunching, sponging and layering and voila!

The quote was done in MDS and then printed on Very Vanilla cardstock.  It was cut out with the Banner Framelits and then stuck on.

I chose this particular quote for a very specific reason.  I think of all the people on my team as flowers.  Even though we all do the same business, we don't compete with each other, rather we cheer each other on and work together so everyone blooms!

You can find all the stampin' supplies needed to make this little gem of a project in my online store.  Head over there with the shopping list and place your order today!

Hello, My Name is Mossy Meadow

Hello, my name is Mossy Meadow and I am one of the new Stampin' Up! In Colors this year.  I am a rich and deep mid to dark shade of green with yellow undertones.  I look great paired with yellows like Hello Honey and rich blues like Night of Navy.  I also look great paired with Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake for a Christmasy color combination.

As a sneak peek in May, Lisa used me with Hello Honey on a stamp club project.  They altered a gift box to be a basket and made a cute little 3x3 card to go with it!

Isn't it awesome!  The basket is actually one of the Decorative Window Gift Boxes altered to be a basket.  She made the handle with Crushed Curry Chevron Ribbon and Missy Meadow ribbon (yeah, that ribbon that you have to get!).  And, the embellishment is the fun Spiral Flower die.  She made a Hello Honey flower and then used the Bird Punch for the leaves (she punched the branch from that punch with Mossy Meadow cardstock).

Did I mention she stamped on the window of the box before altering it?  That's right!  She used her white StazOn ink and a sentiment from the Perfect Pennants set.  Here's a closer look.

And, here's a video so you can see exactly how to alter those boxes into super fun baskets!

There's a fun little card to go with the basket.  Lisa apologizes that there are retired products on the card (the ribbon and sentiment), but assures me that there are loads of products in the new catalog that you could substitute for them.  The original project was made before the old catalog retired...remember, it was a sneak peek of the new In Colors for her stamp clubs!

You can get almost everything you need to make this project in Lisa's online store.  Head on over there with the shopping list and place your order today!

Hello Mossy Meadow

It's Simple Card Sunday again and this week I'm kicking off Mossy Meadow week!  Sooooo, today I have a fun and easy Mossy Meadow card to share.

I love, love, love the way this card came together!  I started with a Crumb Cake card base which I sponged with Crumb Cake ink and stamped some flowers from the Petite Petals set (also with Crumb Cake ink).  The Mossy Meadow squares are just that...squares of cardstock (some textured with the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder and some not), sponged with Mossy Meadow ink and placed on the card in an alternating pattern.  I embellished with a hello Honey flower (also stamped from the Petite Petals set).  The leaves are some luscious Mossy Meadow ribbon and I added a little pearl to the center of the flower.  Ca-ute!  I finished off the card with a "hello" stamped with Mossy Meadow ink.  This particular hello was from the Endless Birthday Wishes photopolymer set.

You can find everything you need to create this card in my online store.  Head over there with the shopping list and place your order today!

Lost Lagoon Birthday

Another simple card today featuring Lost Lagoon!  This one is from my In Color class a few weeks ago.

I started with a Smoky Slate card base, which I sponged the edges of with Smokey Slate ink.  The Lost Lagoon layer is embossed with the Honeycomb embossing folder.  See that tiny scallop along the edge of the Lost Lagoon piece?  That's a strip of Whisper White cardstock which was punched with the Dotted Scallop Border Punch.  I love to use just part of it as a super cute little scallop edge!  The card is finished off with a Happy Birthday from Itty Bitty Banners set which was cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelit set and I added some bling in the form of two rhinestones!

Hello, My Name is Lost Lagoon

Hello!  My name is Lost Lagoon and I am one of the new Stampin' Up! In Colors.  I am a soothing, mellow shade of blue.  They say I'm a little like my long lost cousin Baja Breeze, only much more on trend right now!

I look great paired with mellow yellow colors like Hello Honey!  Looking for a nice vintagey color combination?  Try me with Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla...so pretty!  You can also pair me with deeper shades like Blackberry Bliss and Mossy Meadow or even Basic Gray.

At stamp club in June, Lisa had the girls use the new Fry Box die with me and, well, lets just say the results are super cute!  Have a look!

What did I tell ya...cute isn't it?  Lisa used me for the box.  She placed me on the die and ran me through the Big Shot.  I got squished against the die, cut out and even scored into the box shape!  She also ran a piece of the Moonlight DSP through the Big Shot to line the box.  It's finished off with some stamping, layering of punched pieces and then she filled it with BANANA CREAM PIE JELLY BEANS!!!!!  OMG....so yummy (she found them at her local Bulk Barn store)!  See how she tied the little bag of jelly beans shut?  Yep, that's right!  She used the luscious new Stitched Satin ribbon...you have to get some of this ribbon.

You can check out this video to see just how easy it is to make this project.  Warning...you are going to want to get the Fry Box die!
