Birthday Basics Pop-Up Presents Card

Yesterday I shared my birthday frame with you and today I have a super fun matching card to share with you!  This card was inspired by fellow demonstrators Lisa Young and Rose Coleman!

The card itself it pretty simple and straight forward.  A little embossing, some simple stamping and a touch of DSP (the Birthday Basics DSP!).  The magic happens on the inside of this card!  Have a look!

Isn't it fantastic!  The stack of presents pops up and is a super fun surprise for the recipient of the card!

I just love it!  And, the pop-up part could really be anything...a birthday cake or wedding cake, a sand castle...the possibilities are endless!

It looks like it would be complicated, but it's actually really easy.  Here are some measurements and then there's a video for you to see how it comes together.  Remember that the solid lines indicate cutting lines and the dotted ones indicate scoring lines.  The measurements are for the pop-up insert for the card and it's made to fit on a standard quarter-fold card base (4 1/4 x 5 1/2).

And, now, the video!

Remember, until the end of the month DSP is buy 3 get one FREE!  You can find all the details on this special in my online store.  But, before you head to my online store, grab the shopping list so you can order everything you need to create this card at home!

Fast & Textured

I'm loving the new In Colors!  Here's one of the cards I've been working on for my downline Stamp-A-Rama.

Isn't it fabulous!  I used 3 of the new In Colors, Pear Pizzaz, Concord Crush and Blushng Bride, for the background.  The texture was done with my Big Shot and the new Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder.  This embossing folder creates such a deep impression.

Around the middle of the card is a piece of the 1/8" Taffeta in Early Espresso.  The main stamped image is from the new Level Two hostess set, Fast & Fabulous which is a great two-step floral set.  I love it!  I stamped the pink first with Blushing Bride, followed by the outline in Early Espresso.  It was nice, but was lacking something, so I did a little coloring with my Pear Pizzaz marker to fill in the leaves and stem.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes (a MUST HAVE for anybody's stamp collection!) and was stamped with Early Espresso on Crumb Cake.  I punched it out with the Word Window Punch and mounted it on a punched Modern Label punched piece.

We have 5 new In Colors to play with...Pear Pizzaz, Blushing Bride, Concord Crush, Poppy Parade & Peach Parfait.  You can purchase Classic Ink, cardstock, markers and ribbon in these colors.  This morning I mentioned an In Color special.  Well, here it is!

For the month of July, when you purchase the new In Color Kit (120952), I will throw in 1 yard of each of the In Color 1/2"  Poly-Stitched Ribbons absolutely FREE!  The In Color Kit inlcudes 20 sheets of smooth cardstock (4 of each of the 5 colors) and an ink pad in each of the In Colors and is $36.95.

Contact me today to place your order so you can start playing with these fabulous new In Colors!

Happy Stampin' and have an inspired day!

It's Here!

In Like a Lamb

Mmmmmm, the smell of spring is in the air!  It was so gorgeous today that I had a couple windows open and I swear it smelled like spring.  The sun was shining, the neighbourhood kids were out playing in the street and it was just a great day!  Hopefully we won't see anymore winter...but I did see in the long range forecast that it's supposed to get ugly again next week.  Cross your fingers that the forecast will change!

It is said that March comes in like a lamb and goes out like a lion or vice versa.  Well, I think it definitely came in like a lamb, so in honour of this, I have a lamb card to share with you today.

And, since March is my Birthday Bonanza month, I decided to make my lamb card a birthday card.  I used the Pun Fun and A Little Birthday Cheer (which you can earn FREE with Sale-A-Bration) stamp sets for this card.  I chose some springy colors...Bashful Blue, So Saffron, Pretty in Pink and Soft Suede.

I also used the SU Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder on the Bashful Blue piece.  I love SU Embossing Folders.  They create such a deep and crisp impression in the cardstock.  Here's a closer look at the dimension.

And, here's a closer look at the little lamb, which is attached to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.  To color her, I just scribbled on her with my White Gel Pen.  The heart is the smallest heart from the Heart to Heart punch.  I punched it out of Pretty in Pink cardstock and sponged around the edges with Rose Red.  I carefully cut around the lamb's arm to tuck the heart in behind it.

So cute!  Remember that during the Birthday Bonanza, shipping & GST is on me!

That's all for today!  Have an inspired day!

Wii are inspired!

My inspiration for today's simple card came from our Wii Fit!  I've been using it more the last little while trying to get in shape.  I pulled my card colors right from the Wii Fit.

I chose Whisper White, Basic Gray and Green Galore...very Wii!!!  I chose to do a "cool" birthday card (according to my boys!) and it seriously took me about 10 minutes.  The stamped images are the Extreme Skateboard and Teeny Tiny Wishes for the greeting.  I punched the greeting with the Word Window and mounted it on a piece of Green Galore punched with the Modern Label punch.  The greeting is put on the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I did a couple little things to add visual interest...

I did some paper piercing around the top corner of the image piece and added faux Green Galore brads to each corner of the card.  I used the Ticket Corner Punch and my Crop-A-Dile to make the faux brads.

Here's a look at the dimension.

Tomorrow will be the first day of my Birthday Bonanza month!  During the month of March, I will be featuring birthday themed projects and because my birthday is in March, I've decided that for the entire month shipping and GST is on me!  To take advantage of this special you must be Canadian and you have to contact me to place your order.  Remember, this special is only for the month of March!

That's all for today!  Have an inspired day!

How would you like to earn some LA Stamper Bucks?

Here's the deal, everyone who places an order, comes to a club, class or event during the month of December has the opportunity to earn Stampin' Bucks to use for Occasions Mini Catalogue purchases beginning in January. All you have to do to earn the Stampin' Bucks is bring a non-perishable food item to your class, club or event. For each non-perishable food item you bring, you will earn one LA Stamper Buck. There's no limit...if you bring 5 items you get 5 LA Stamper Bucks. Your LA Stamper Bucks can be redeemed just like money on Occasions Mini Catalogue merchandise in January when the mini comes out...and trust me, your wish list will be HUGE!!!!

At the end of December, all the food items will be donated to the Interfaith Food Bank here in Lethbridge.

So what do you say? Are you in? Let's fill up a HUGE basket that I will have a hard time carrying into the Food Bank at the end of the month!

Until next time my friends!
