Fun with the Kids

Last Saturday I had a Stampin' Kids class, which I think was my favorite to date!  The kids got to decorate a lamp and then make a door knob hanger with some Build-a-Bear stuff and their name on it.  It was a great class and I know the kids had a blast!

The lamps started out as plain square lamps, which I found at Ikea.  These lamps are fantastic...so easy to decorate with our vinyl and when you get sick of it, peel it off and put something different on!  and, because they only have a 40W chandelier bulb in them, they don't get very hot.  I used my Circles #2 die and various colors of our raw vinyl and cut polka dots for the kids.  It was so easy for them to just peel and stick all over their lamps!

They also make a door hanger with their names on it.  The base of these are chipboard coasters, which we covered with cardstock and Designer Papers.

The top coaster had their name on it, which I pre-cut with my Big Shot and the Go Go Boots alphabet dies.

The bottom coaster had a bear which I also pre-cut with my Big Shot and various Build-a-Bear dies.

So fun!  Have an inspired day!

Meet Buddy!

Good morning! Today is a great day! Kevin got a call from his surgeon with a new surgery date. YAHOO!!!!! January 26 is the big day. Cross your fingers for us that nothing will interfere this time and he will be on the road to recovery on Jan 27.

I have a super cute project to share with you today. I want you to meet Buddy...

Buddy is my youngest son's favorite toy right now...and I made it! I took a metal DVD tin and altered it a bit (with Sawyer's help, of course!). He loved punching and using my Big Shot! We cut out bears and clothes from both cardstock/DSP and magnet sheets with my Big Shot. We also made a little scene for Buddy. Buddy lives on one side of the tin and Buddy's wardrobe lives on the other side of the tin. Sawyer plays with Buddy almost everyday and it's one of those toys that he will not share!

As you can see from the pictures of Sawyer wearing shorts, we did this project pre-snow this year! But, Buddy has added to his wardrobe with the seasons...he has a Jack-O-Lantern Halloween costume and Christmas clothes now. And, I'm going to see if the Valentine's and Easter Sizzlits will cut through magnet sheets so Buddy can have bunny ears and valentine's stuff!

Buddy is a great toy that Sawyer brings on road trips and plays with during quite time. In fact, I found Buddy under Sawyer's pillow when I changed his sheets! Buddy fits perfectly in my purse, so he also comes to appointments sometimes!

Have a great day!

Little Inkling

It's been a while since I last posted, and boy have I been busy! I have lots of great things to post in the next little while, but first, I wanted to let you know that the winner of my Name that Bear Contest has been chosen!

I would like to introduce all of you to "Little Inkling"! Little Inkling was named by Mary Kay. Thanks Mary for the cute name and enjoy your new Designer Paper!

There was a LOT of great and very creative entries and I had a hard time deciding! So, I narrowed it down to a few of my favorites and then asked the experts, my family!

Thanks to all of you who took the time to come up with a name and submit it to me!

Happy Stampin'!

Name That Bear

So, I got this sweet little Demonstrator Build-A-Bear at Convention in August and she remains nameless! I NEED your help to give her a "Pawsitively" perfect name. She's soooo soft and cuddly and has a cute little Dusty Durrango bow on her ear! She came with a demonstrator apron and a little stamp that says "Life without stamps is unbearable"!

So put on your creative caps and send me your suggestions along with your name and email address. I will go through all the suggestions and choose a winner, who will receive a package of the "Pawsitively Prints" Designer Paper!

"Beary Best Wishes" coming up with a "Pawsitively Perfect" name for her!

Open to Canadian Residents only!
