Pop-Up Posies Box

Today I have a Pop-Up Posies box to share with you made with the retiring Fancy Favor die.

I started with a Lucky Limeade box and wrapped it with some Tea for Two DSP.  I tied a piece of Very Vanilla Seam Binding ribbon around it and added one of the Pop-Up Posies tags to the front of the box.  To finish it off I added one of the Calypso Coral flowers and stamped a sentiment on the tag.

Neutral Pop-Up Posies

Pop-Up Posies in Shades of Blue

Tea for Two...Tea for You!

I love tea!  So, when I saw the Tea for Two Product Suite in the Spring Catalog, I knew I had to have it all!!!  The ideas started rolling around in my head and this one was one of the first I did!  I showed it for a demo I did quite a while back.

Inspiration for this project came from here.  I changed up the measurements a bit so I could use my Simply Scored to do the scoring!

Here's the template I came up with.  I've included a template for the box, lid and bottom of the box for you.

This tea dispenser will fit any standard tea bag that comes in a little sealed paper envelope.  And, it makes a great gift for any tea lover in your life!

What a Week!

This last week has been a crazy emotional roller coaster!  My husband and I celebrated our 14th anniversary by driving 2 hours away from home for him to have a spinal fusion surgery done.  We were both nervous about the surgery.  And, to top it off, it was a busy week for me trying to get everything done that I needed to before his surgery and the 5 days I would be spending away from home and my sweet boys while with him until he's ready to come home.

I'm happy to say that his surgery went well and he is now on the long road to recovery.  He's still in the hospital, and will be for another couple days, but I've already noticed an improvement in the way he walks!  And, he has told me that his nerve pain is better (not gone, but much better) and he has some feeling back in his foot already!  Yay!  I am trying to be super positive that he will make a full recovery and be good as new in the next few months.

While in Calgary, I visited with my good friend Rose.  I enjoyed a wonderful dinner with her and her family and then I got to join her stamp club!!!!  I had a blast being the "student" that evening and meeting her club members.  They were all so welcoming and sweet!  It was wonderful getting to know all of them!

Like I did with my clubs this month, Rose's projects were a mix of retiring product and some sneak peeks of new stuff!

We made a fun box using the retiring Fancy Favor Box.  This is a die that I will definitely be missing a lot when it's gone!

We also used some fun new products...a new color (Strawberry Slush), 2 new stamp sets and the super fun new Simply Pressed Clay and the Clay Molds.  I made a button!!!!  So fun!

We also did 2 cards, but I'm only going to show you one today!  I'm saving the other because my clubs are going to make it next month with some super fun new products.

This card uses some of the Spring Catalog products (get them while you can...the Spring Catalog is done at the end of the month!) and a retiring color (Not Quite Navy).

It was a fun evening spent with a great friend...just what I needed!

Papillon, Anyone?

Don't I sound sophisticated and french with that title...LOL!!!!!  I have always liked the Papillon Potpourri set and now that we have 2 butterfly (that's right, 2) punches that match with the set I love it even more. 

Recently I did a Birthday Stamp-A-Stack and one of the cards we made was pretty and feminine and included some super pretty butterflies!

Isn't it purty?  I went for a softer look with the Wisteria Wonder.  Notice how I layered an embossed piece over the base...both the same color.  A little strip of some Tea for Two DSP (from the Spring Catalog), a small scallop punched layer courtesy of the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch), some Linen Thread and it's all finished off with some beautiful butterflies!

There's a simple trick to coloring the butterflies this way.  Stamp them on some scrap cardstock and use sponge daubers to rub ink over them (blending if you're using multiple colors).  THEN you punch them out.  The wings on mine are curled a bit which was partially done with the addition of some shimmer mist and partially done with my finger.  They are attached to the card with a line of glue where their bodies are and finished off with some pearls.

LA Stamper's Shimmer Mist Recipe:  In a Stampin' Mister, pour about 1 inch of Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint, add 2 inches of Rubbing Alcohol and top it off with water.  Screw the lid on tight and shake well before use.  If you want colored shimmer mist, you can add a couple drops of ink refill...color of your choice!

Make a Wish!

I can say I kind of overlooked the Make a Wish set in the Spring Catalog at first.  I was lucky enough to get it free at an event, so I figured it should see some ink (because in my head free sets are presents from Shelli so they need to be loved more than other stamps!).  After searching the web for some inspiration and putting stamp to ink to paper I can confidently say this set is fantastic!

And, that's what I came up with!  I loved the way Heather Summers used the cake and sentiment on a card she did, so I started with that and ran with it.  I love, love, love this layout for a card and use it a lot (like here...where I showed two different cards with it!).

It's a pretty simple layout with a strip of DSP, a strip of embossed cardstock and some ribbon this time around.  Check out what I did around the circle....

Can you see the piercing?  I love the Stampin' Pierce Mats this year...so many shapes and so many possibilities!

Sycamore Street

Consider this a PSA...Sycamore Street will be closing on Friday!  That's right, we will be saying good bye to Sycamore Street DSP, ribbons and buttons on Friday when SAB ends for another year.  The good news is that you still have today, tomorrow and Friday to place your last minute orders  to qualify for SAB and stock up on some Sycamore Street products (and the other products, if you want!).

S{ick}?

As I write this post, I am most definitely not sick, but I know a lot of people are.  I have the perfect little pick-me-up project that you could easily make and give to someone who is a little under the weather.

It's a cute little get well soon mug!  It's super easy to make...

• you need a 4x11 piece if cardstock
• score at every inch (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.....)
• then along the long side, you want to score at an inch
• trim up the score lines along the bottom to the long score line you made
• either stamp or add some DSP
• using the oval framelits made a handle and glue it partly onto the last flap
• glue the last flap on to the first flap creating a tube like shape
• then you want to put the tube over a can (helps to make the shape) and glue the flaps down
• embellish with a tag and fill with fun stuff!

I started with a Chocolate Chip piece of cardstock and embellished with some Tea for Two DSP.  My tag was made with the Two Tags die (wide tag cut shorter) and I stamped with the s{ick} stamp from the Word Play set.  To get all the colors on my stamped image, I used my Stampin' Write markers.  And to attach my tag I used some of the Ruffled Calypso Coral ribbon.  All the colors I used I pulled from colors in the DSP.

This little mug is perfect for so many different occasions.  I did one at Christmas for teacher gifts and included hot chocolate mix, peppermint sticks, marshmallows and a Tim Card.  You could also make a fun tea or coffee themed gift in one of these too.  Since this one is a get well soon mug, I put an assortment of comforting stuff for when someone is sick...tea, cup-a-soup, kleenex, sanitizing wipes.

There you have it...a super fun little gift that would brighten someone's day for sure!  All the products I used to make this fun little project are available in my online store.

Best Of....

Soda Pop Tops....Squished

At first I wasn't sure about the Soda Pop Tops in the Spring catalog.  But, now that I have played around with them, I can say with confidence that I LOVE them!!!!  I do find them a little bulky, so I like to squish 'em for my projects!  This is a project I made for all my downline who attended the Calgary Regional last weekend.

I started with MDS and made the part that was going to go in the squished soda pop top.  I sized a circle punch to 1", filled it with some DSP and then added some hearts and a name.  Then I copied and pasted a bunch of times to get enough for all my downline that was attending the Calgary Regional last weekend.  After printing on whisper white cardstock, I punched them all out with my 1" punch and stuck them into the squished soda pop tops.  The next step is to fill the soda pop top with crystal effects and let it sit for a looooooooong time to dry...like 24 hours!  After they were dry, I punched a hole in them with my retired crop-a-dile and fed a chain through (I found the chain at my local craft store).  The final little touch was to tie a strip of the More Amore Designer Fabric on it.

These make perfect scissor charms......

They also are cute on a bag (in a room of hundreds or thousands of demonstrators with the same bag it's important to make yours a little different than the others!).  Some of my downline even put them on their lanyards along with their name tags for the day.

The Curly Label Punch had a Baby!

This Sale-A-Bration, our Curly Label punch had a baby and named it the Petite Curly Label punch.....and, it's ADORABLE!!!!

Recently, I paired the adorable Petite Curly Label punch (SAB) with the new Print Poetry DSP (Spring Catalog) to create two versions of a super cute and simple card!  It kind of reminds me of a patchwork quilt!

My stamp clubs did a birthday version of the card with blues and greens this month.  Here's a closer look.

A Little Parker's Patterns

Hello!  How is your Thursday going?  I am looking forward to a fun class tonight...don't worry, I will post pictures next week!  Today, I want to share a little Parker's Patterns with you! 

Monday I mentioned that I had a special downline event where we did lots of fun stamping.  When I was planning make & takes for the event, I wanted them each to feature a product suite from the Spring Catalog.  Today I'm going to show you the make & take that featured the Parker's Patterns product suite.  I love this suite.  There are some great textures and patterns in this suite that lend themselves wonderfully to more masculine projects.

You can see some of the Designer Paper, the fantastic Natural Trim Ribbon (which looks like it's rough and thick, but in real life, it's soft and ties beautifully!) as well as the super awesome Silver Buttons.  Seriously, check out the centers of the buttons.  They are textured!  And, these buttons have some serious shine to them...love them!!!!  You will also see some embossing (both heat and with the big shot) and some stamping.  That sentiment is one of my favorites...you can find it in the Pursuit of Happiness set.

Inside...I love the little flap pocket!  And, you'll see an extra score line by the far left edge...that was an oops when I was making my sample, so ignore that, yours won't have one!

We used a Jr. Legal Pad as our notepad (these can be found at your local office supply store...often singly or in packs of 10 or 12).  One of the reasons why I love using these notepads is that I can cover the top of them where all the papers are bound together (look for the strip of DSP in the middle picture).

Now, I know I'm going to get comments and emails asking for the pattern or measurements.  So, I'm happy to supply you with a little something to help you create these for yourself.......

Doilies, Hearts & Candy...oh my!

A couple weeks ago, I had a super fun stamp day with my downline girls.  We had a blast chatting, laughing, learning about some of the super fun stuff Stampin' Up! has coming and, of course, stamping!  With Valentine's Day coming up, one of our make & takes was a valentine theme.

This make and take was supplied and designed by the very talented Cheryl (go check out her blog...you'll love it!) and it was inspired by a swap made by another talented and creative member of my downline, Sherri.

The pouch was cut with the Petite Pocket die and the Big Shot.  This is a super fun die with so many possibilities!  We used some of the paper doilies from the Spring catalog.  Have you checked out those doilies yet?  You get a boat load of them in the pack for cheap.  Seriously, go check them out...they're fantastic!

We also used some of the images and the framelits from the Hearts A Flutter product suite.  Love those stamps and coordinating framelits!  Did you notice we used one of the little banner shapes as a tag?

Our pouches were filled with a bag of cinnamon bath salts and a bag of cinnamon hearts.  We used the 1x8 cello bags for these and just trimmed them down to the size we needed for the pouch.

There you have it!  A quick and cute little valentine gift that you could make for someone special.

More Amore!

If I remember my french lessons in Junior High correctly, amore means love.  So one of the product suites in the Spring Catalog, More Amore, translated would mean more love!  And, there's lots to love about this product suite!

I have a love for Designer Paper...do you?  The papers in the More Amore Specialty DSP pack are so pretty and, of course, coordinate beautifully with the Hearts A  Flutter stamp set and matching Framelits.  Last week I featured this product suite with my clubs and they made this fun and easy card.  It's a Basic Gray card base jazzed up a but with some DSP, embossed paper (don't you love the new Honeycomb embossing folder?!?!?!), ribbon and some stamping!

Can you even imagine my excitement when I realized the small heart punch is a perfect match for the heart in the valentine stamp from the Delightful Dozen set?!?!?!  And, it's even cuter when you pop it up with a dimensional!!!

Did you notice the ribbon?  It's the cotton ribbon from the holiday catalog.  At the end of the spring catalog there's a page of items still available from the Holiday catalog and I was thrilled that this ribbon was on that page!
