Simple Card Sunday 13 - Pacific Point Painted Petals

Hi Stampers!  It's Simple Card Sunday and I have a great card for you this week featuring the new Painted Petals stamp set and Painted Blooms DSP from the 2015 Occasions Catalog.

It's been a while since we had a Simple Card Sunday, so let me refresh your memory about what kind of card a Simple Card Sunday card is!

• It must be able to be completed in 10-15 minutes max
• It must use minimal supplies
• It must be able to be made in 5 easy steps

Are you ready?  Let's get started with the step-by-step!

• Start by folding a 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 piece of Pacific Point cardstock in half.
• Stick a 1-1/4 x 4-1/4 strip of Painted Blooms DSP along the right side of the card base.  Stick a 1 x 4-1/4 strip of embossed Wild Wasabi cardstock right beside it followed by a 1/4 x 4-1/4 strip of Crushed Curry stuck beside the Wild Wasabi.
• On a 1-3/4 x 2-3/4 piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the floral image from the Painted Petals stamp set with Soft Sky ink.  Stamp the leaves and stems with Wild Wasabi ink and then stamp a sentiment over the flowers with Pacific Point ink.
• With ribbon scraps (Wild Wasabi Seam Binding, Soft Sky 1/8" Taffeta & a Burlap Ribbon string), make some ribbon loops and layer them together.  Staple them to the Whisper White piece with the Handheld Stapler.  Apply Stampin' Dimensionals to the back and stick it to a 2 x 3 piece of Soft Sky cardstock
• With SNAIL, stick the Soft Sky cardstock to the center of the card.

I love the ombre look of the letters!  I did that with my Bermuda Bay Blendabilities.  So fun!  Here's the inside of the card....

I added a strip of Bermuda Bay cardstock to the bottom on the inside of the card, but only stuck it down on three sides creating a little pocket perfect to hold a gift card!

It's Petite!

One of the new dies this year is the Petite Pocket die...and I love it!  Tonight I had my To Die For class and the Petite Pocket was the featured die.  Check it out...

We used Lucky Limeade and the Letters to Santa DSP.  See how the little flap is embossed?  That was done with the Petals a Plenty embossing folder...just to give the flap a little something extra.  The little circles are attached with Whisper White brads and the flap gets secured shut with a piece of Early Espresso Baker's Twine.  It's finished off with a cute little tag!

I found that a gift card just fits into this pocket and a tea bag also fits nicely.  Of course, money would also fit and you might be able to get some smaller jewellery in it.  It's a fun die to play with and tomorrow I will show you the other project we did at the class!

Fancy Pouch

This is my second last Fancy Favour project...I've saved the best for last and I will share it on Monday.  Today, the project is a great little pouch perfect for holding a little gift for someone special.

Here's my color combination for this project...Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler & Old Olive.

And, here's the project!

Isn't it YUMMY!!!  I made a little pouch from the Fancy Favour die!  Now, I can't take credit for this idea...I saw it somewhere a long time ago.  The pouch is Crumb Cake cardstock stamped with the apple image from Tart & Tangy with Crumb Cake ink.  And, it holds a packet of Apple Cider mix.  A perfect little something for someone during the crisp days of fall.  This pouch could hold a packet of Hot Chocolate, some tea bags or you could do a really fun one with a packet of Kool-Aid.

I've been using my Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder a LOT lately, my Square Lattice one has been feeling a bit neglected!  So I used it to emboss a strip of Cherry Cobbler cardstock for the belly band around the pouch.  I wrapped a piece of Striped Old Olive Ribbon around that and instead of tieing it, I scrunched it in the middle with a piece of Linen Thread through a Crumb Cake Button.  This is a great way to get the look of a knot without the bulk...especially with the wider ribbons!

It's finished off with the apple image from the Apple Blossoms Level 2 Hostess Set stamped with Old Olive on Crumb Cake cardstock.  I cut it out and stuck it on with a Stampin' Dimensional.

And, sonce I know you're wanting to know how to make these fun little pouches, I've done a tutorial for you!

You'll want to cut some pieces off of your Fancy Favour after you cut it out like this. 

Now's the time to stamp your pouch if you so desire!  It's much easier to  stamp it now than after it's all put together...I speak from experience here people!!!!  *wink*  After you've stamped it, you want to glue part of one of the flaps and the bottom flap like this...

And, then you stick it together to form the pouch itself!

Fun, eh?  Well, when I made this one, I got a bit carried away and made another!  And, I just have to share it with you!  It's like a 2-for-1 post!

So CA-UTE!!!  The pouch is Early Espresso with a Marina Mist DSP belly band.  I stamped with the Word Play set directly on the the DSP with Marina Mist and then over top that with Early Espresso to get a shadow effect.  You'll notice a litle scallop along the top...that's half of a punched Scallop Square.  Don't throw away the other half though!  I'm gonig to show you where I used it in a bit!

The little mug is from the Every Little Bit set.  It was stamped with Early Espresso ink on Watercolor Paper and then watercolored with Marina Mist and Cajun craze ink.  It's punched out with the new oval punch (which you can find in the Holiday Mini) and then sponged around the edge with Cajun Craze ink.

A cute little card!  you can now see where I used that other half of that Scalloped Square.  I used the same general idea as the pouch.  One of the mugs is hilighted by coloring it and there's a little thank you (from Teeny Tiny Wishes) stamped with Early Espresso ink.  To finish it off, I did a row of piercing.

But, this is not just any card...

...it's made to hold a gift card.  And, not just any gift card, it's a Tim Card...shhhh, don't tell my husband I stole his from his wallet for the picture.  I'll have to remember to put it back before my coffee-a-holic goes back to work tomorrow!!!  My card measures 2 7/8 x 3 1/2 (which means I had to cut a 2 7/8 x 7 1/2 piece of cardstock).  The little 1 inch strip I cut off my cardstock to get my card size I used to make a little pocket to hold the gift card.

The Ninth Week of Christmas-Gift Card Holder

It's time for the Ninth Week of Christmas and this week I have a Gift Card Holder for you.

This Gift Card Holder is made from an envelope! Can you believe it? This is a great little project that is easily re-created to suit any occasion you need, and with Stampin' Up!'s envelopes, you have a few different choices of color. I used a Kraft one for this project.

To start, you want to fold your envelope in half so that the flap is on the inside. Then you cut half the flap off and glue down the other half of the flap. And then, you're ready to embellish for whatever occasion you need a gift card holder for.

I started by stamping a piece of Naturals Ivory cardstock with the Serene Snowflakes set using Real Red, Old Olive and Soft Suede ink I sponged around the edges of the stamped piece with Soft Suede ink, then mounted it on a piece of Soft Suede cardstock. Before I stuck that stamped piece on the envelope, I sponged around the edges of the envelope and stuck the ribbon on. The ribbon I chose for this project is the Sleigh Bells Ribbon from the Holiday Mini Catalogue. Get it while you can ladies. There's less that a month left to order from the Holiday Mini Catalogue!

The focal point of this project is one of the stamps from the Level 2 Hostess set, Christmas Punch. I colored the image with Stampin' Write Markers (Old Olive, Real Red, More Mustard & Soft Suede) and then stamped it on a piece of Naturals Ivory cardstock. It is punched out with the Large Oval Punch and mounted on a piece of Soft Suede cardstock punched with the Scallop Oval punch. The Scallop Oval is sponged around the edges with Soft Suede ink and stuck on the front of the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

On the right side (the side where the flap is glued down) of the inside, I stuck a piece of Soft Suede cardstock. On top of that, I stuck a piece of Naturals Ivory which was stamped with the same ink and stamps as the front piece. I used the To/From stamp from Christmas Punch and also added a little Merry Christmas from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

The left side is the side where the half flap was cut off. You can see that I also cut a little chunk off the envelope so the gift card shows up better.
