Simple Card Sunday-Masculine Card

Hi Stampers!  Today I have another simple card featuring the Banner Triple Punch to share with you!

Just like the card last week, I used the punch to make three perfect banners to accent my card. Here's the step-by-step for you.

• Fold a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock (5-1/2x8-1/2) in half.
• Sponge the edges of a Crumb Cake piece (4x5-1/4) with Crumb Cake ink.
• Punch three banners (Basic Black Neutrals DSP, Marina Mist and Whisper White). Layer them on the card according to the picture.
• Stamp a sentiment with Basic Black ink (Happy Birthday, Everyone hostess set)
• Make a little embellishment with a Basic Metal Button, Marina Mist ribbon and Basic Black Baker's Twine

Simple Card Sunday 15-Banner Triple Punch

Hi Stampers!  It's Simple Card Sunday where I will feature a simple card for you!  I've decided to make a couple changes to Simple Card Sunday for the time being.  Rather than a different video each week, I will do a video once a month and then feature a card with the same layout or tools each Sunday for the month.  The same Simple Card Sunday rules will apply to all the cards I feature.

Here's a little refresher of the rules:

• must be able to be made in 10-15 minutes max
• must use minimal supplies
• must be able to be created in 5 easy steps

So, here we go! This month I'm going to feature cards using the Banner Triple Punch which is a great punch to make easy banners (more on that in the video!).

Look at those fab banners!!!!

Are you ready to create?  Here's the 5 easy steps for you...

• Fold a piece of Always Artichoke cardstock (4-1/4x11) in half.
• Punch the three banners (Always Artichoke, English Garden DSP and Night of Navy cardstock).
• Sponge a Crumb Cake piece of cardstock (3-3/4x5-1/2) with Soft Suede ink. Sponge the edges of the DSP banner too.
• Glue the banners on the Crumb Cake cardstock, offsetting them as shown in the picture. Glue the Crumb Cake piece to the card base.
• Stamp a sentiment (I chose one from the And Many More set) with Soft Suede ink.  Tie some Linen thread around the whole card (be careful not to tie your card shut!) leaving long enough tails to tie a button on if desired (I used a silver Basic Metal Button).

You + Me Mini Treat Bag

Hi Stampers!  One of my fav dies in the Occasions catalog is the new Mini Treat Bag Thinlits!  You get the die to make a super cute little treat bag AND a bunch of other pieces to embellish your treat bags.  With Valentine's day right around the corner, I had to use my fav new die with some fun Valentine's product with my clubs!

Super cute, eh?  We used the new You + Me stamp set (bundled with the fab Stacked With Love DSP stack) with the Mini Treat Bag thinlits to create our project.  Check out the close up of some of the fun details...

As I was designing this project, I realized that a Notecard size card fits perfectly into the treat bag!  So, I added a little notecard sized insert that could be used for a fun little love note.

You will definitely be seeing more mini treat bags....a LOT!  I am loving this die and have so many ideas for it!

Simple Card Sunday 12-Christmas Bliss

Hi Stampers!  Welcome to Simple Card Sunday.  This week I have a fun star themed Christmas card to share with you.

I used some of the Trim the Tree DSP from the Holiday Catalog as the starting point when I was designing this card.  Let's get started!

Step-by Step (cardstock measurements are noted in the video):

• Fold some Crumb Cake cardstock in half.  With Crumb Cake ink, stamp the star from the Christmas Bliss set all over the card and sponge the edges.  I stamped the star off on scrap paper once before stamping it on the card.
• Make a star frame using the two smallest Star Framelits and Crumb Cake cardstock.  Sponge the edges with Crumb Cake ink and wrap some Linen Thread around part of the star.
• Stick the Early Espresso, Crumb Cake & Trim the Tree layers together and then onto the card.
• Stamp the sentiment (from the Christmas Bliss set) with Early Espresso ink just off center below the Trim the Tree layer.  Stick the star on with Stampin' Dimensionals.
• Punch two little stars (Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack) from a scrap of Champagne Glimmer Paper and stick them by the larger star.

I pulled out my Blendabilities for the flower for this one!

If you look close you will notice I stamped some snowflakes on the All Is Calm DSP!

Can you believe it?  No stamping on this one!

Simple Card Sunday 11-Amazing Birthday Circles

Hi Stampers!  Wow!  Has it really been a week since my last post?  It's been a super crazy week for sure which is one reason why I like to do simple cards!  It's easy to find 10-15 minutes to whip up a simple and thoughtful handmade card for someone and this week's card is perfect for that!

I like to do things in threes when I do projects and this card has a lot of 3's!  Three sizes of circles, three colors (not including white), three images across the card, baker's twine wrapped around it three times...you get the idea!!!

Let's get started with the Step-by Step!

• Fold the Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock (4 1/4 x 11) in half.  On a scrap of Whisper White cardstock, stamp three birthday cake images (Amazing Birthday set) with Blushing Bride ink.
• With the 1 3/4" Circle Punch, punch out three circles from some Calypso Coral cardstock.  With the 1 3/8" Circle Punch, punch out three circles from some Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock.  With the 1 1/4" Circle Punch, punch out the three birthday cakes you stamped.
• Layer the stamped images on the Crisp Cantaloupe circles and put some Stampin' Dimensionals on the back (see the video for a tip on how to place them!).
• Place the three Calypso Coral circles across the Whisper White cardstock (4 x 5 1/4).  Wrap some Blushing Bride Baker's Twine around the white piece and the circles three times.  Secure with a knot at the right edge of the card.  Stick the layered stamped birthday cakes over the Baker's Twine.
• Stamp a Happy Birthday (Remembering Your Birthday set) with Calypso Coral ink.  Tie the Baker's Twine into a bow (optional) and add some Dazzling Details to the dots on the middle cake.

I started by stamping the flowers with Memento ink on Whisper White cardstock and coloring them with my Blendabilities.  I used the Wisteria Wonder set for the flowers and the Daffodil Delight set for the middle of the flowers.  The leaves are cut with the Flower Fair Framelit set from Mossy Meadow cardstock (the Flower Fair framelits are available in a bundle with the Flower Patch stamp set).  And, to finish off the flowers, I put some Dazzling Details in the centers.  I love the color combination of purples and Sahara Sand, don't you?

Simple Card Sunday 9-Festival of Trees

Hi Stampers!  It's a frosty, snowy day here, which is a perfect day to spend with a mug of tea and my stamps!  I will admit that although I've been showing you a lot of Christmas cards lately, I'm not ready for snow and winter.  Thankfully the heavy, wet snow we are getting today will be a thing of the past in a couple days...the forecast is for warm weather for the rest of the week.  I did learn that I have a snowsuit and a couple pairs of winter boots to buy ASAP for my boys so we aren't caught off guard when the next snow event rolls in!

Today's card was inspired by a card fellow demonstrator Ronda Wade did this last week.  I fell in love with the layout and knew I had to use it!  I simplified it so it fit with the Simple Card Sunday guidelines and this is what I came up with.

Step-by-Step:

• Fold the Blackberry Bliss cardstock (5 1/2 x 8 1/2) in half and set aside.
• Cut a circle out of the Crumb Cake cardstock ( 4 x 5 1/2) with the Circle Framelits and the Big Shot. 
• Stamp the sentiment (Bright & Beautiful set) with Blackberry Bliss ink below the circle.  Sponge the edges of the Crumb Cake piece with Blackberry Bliss ink and a Stampin' Sponge (see the video for a Stampin' Sponges tip!).
• On a scrap piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, stamp the solid tree (Festival of Trees set) with Crumb Cake ink and then the tinsel image (Festival of Trees set) over it with Blackberry Bliss ink.  Punch out the tree with the Tree Punch. 

 Remember, the Tree Punch and Festival of Trees set are available in the Holiday Catalog as a bundle so you can save 15% when you purchase the bundle rather than purchasing them separately! 

• Stick the Crumb Cake piece on the Blackberry Bliss card base with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Stick the tree inside the circle.

Fun card, isn't it!  In the video I mentioned a stepped up version, and here it is!

It's still a pretty simple card with just a couple little elements added!  There's a piece of Vanilla Seam Binding tied on the left side.  And, I thought the tree needed a star, so I punched a star from some Champagne Glimmer Paper.  I really love the stepped up version!

As always, I have a couple other versions of this card for you.

I dusted off my Mixed Bunch set for this card done in Blushing Bride and Crumb Cake.  The sentiment is from the hostess set, Bloom with Hope.

This one features another set I haven't used in a LONG time, Bombs Away Birthday!  This one is a bit more fussy, but still pretty simple!

Festival of Trees

Hi Stampers!  Today I have a fun Christmas card featuring the Festival of Trees set and punch.  I think the Festival of Trees set and punch is a must have out of this year's Holiday Catalog!

Today's card was inspired by a couple cards in the catalog...check out page 13 and page 24 and see if you can spot the cards that inspired me!

Simple Card Sunday 8-Work of Art Merry Everything

Hi Stampers!  After taking a couple weeks off of Simple Card Sunday it's time to get back at it!  With the holiday season quickly approaching, I did quick and simple Christmas card for you this week.

Remember, for a card to be featured in Simple Card Sunday it has to use minimal supplies, be completed in 10-15 minutes and be completed in 5 easy steps.  This week's card was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest by Melissa Davies and I fell in love with the simplicity of it.

Step-by-Step

• Fold the Whisper White cardstock (5 1/2 x 8 1/2) in half.
• Stamp the large brush stroke from the Work of Art set on a piece of Whisper White cardstock (3 3/4 x 5).  Start with Always Artichoke in the middle, then Sahara Sand on the top and Cherry Cobbler on the bottom.  Stamp off the Always Artichoke and Cherry Cobbler ones before stamping them on your cardstock.
• Stamp Merry Christmas from the Merry Everything set with Soft Suede ink on the brush strokes.  The Merry Everything set is also available in a bundle with a coordinating punch that I didn't use on this card!
• Mat the Whisper White piece on a Cherry Cobbler piece ( 3 7/8 x 5 1/8).  Attach it to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals
• Punch 3 small stars (Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack) from Champagne Glimmer Paper and stick them to the card around the sentiment.

Festival of Trees Swap Card

Hi Stampers!  On Tuesday, I showed you one of my swap cards from when I got together with my downline for our Holiday Catalog Shoebox Swap.  Today I'm going to show you my other swap card.

You all know that my favorite set from the Holiday Catalog is Wonderous Wreath, but I think the Festival of Trees set is a close second!  I love the variety of trees and that there's a coordinating punch so I can punch out all those fun trees!

Blackberry Bliss, Always Artichoke and Sahara Sand...one of my new favorite color combinations!  Here's a little tip for this card, punch the tree out of Blackberry Bliss cardstock and then cut it out in a circle shape with the Circle Framelits and voila, you have a tree shape in a circle!  You can then stamp your tree on your background cardstock and have it perfectly fit in the tree shape you punched.  Another thing I love about this set is that it's photopolymer so it's super easy to stamp the tree with one color (Always Artichoke) and then stamp the decorations with another color (Blackberry Bliss) and get them perfectly lined up!

Confetti Celebration Shaker Box

Hi Stampers!  When I saw the new Confetti Stars punch in the Holiday Catalog, I immediately thought of shaker cards which then morphed into the idea of doing a shaker box!  So I set out to make a fun shaker box full of stars for a club project in August!

I used the Kraft Gift Boxes and altered away!

I started with the Confetti Celebration DSP and went from there.  The sides of the box are covered in Bermuda Bay cardstock which was stamped with stars from the Perfect Pennants set.

Star Framelits, Window Sheets and mounting tape were used to make the shaker which was fulled with punched stars (Confetti Stars Punch) and In Color sequins.  This was such a FUN project!

Pucker Up Buttercup....Kissing Technique How To

Hi Stampers!  It's the first Tuesday of the month which means it's discount day at the grocery store and it's technique day here at LA Stamper!  Today I'm going back to basics and showing you the kissing technique.  This is a super easy and fun technique where you kiss two stamps together so you end up with one image on the other when you stamp them.

Basically you need one larger solid image stamp (ink in a lighter color) and one smaller image stamp (ink in a darker color).  Then you kiss the two stamps together and stamp the solid image one on your cardstock.  The result is so fun!

For this project, I kissed the letter a from the Larger Than Life Alphabet (inked with Blackberry Bliss) with the Positively Chevron background stamp (not inked).  So, I kissed off some of the ink from my letter and then when I stamped it I ended up with a fun chevron a!

I was inspired by Becky Roberts for this project and did these fun little note rings with my downline at our last Stamp & Share.

Here's another example on a card.

On this one, I inked up the small solid butterfly from the Papillion Potpourri set with Pink Pirouette ink and kissed it with the find splatter from the Gorgeous Grunge set (inked with Strawberry Slush ink).  Here's a close up of the butterflies so you can have a better look.

Simple Birthday Wishes

It's Simple Card Sunday again and today I have a simple birthday card to share.  This is a card that my clubs did in June!

I used the super fun Endless Birthday Wishes photopolymer set for this card.  I love my rubber stamps a lot, but I have to say I do enjoy some aspects of the photopolymer stamps.  They are clear which is pretty cool...you can see right through them when you stamp them which makes for perfect placement.  I also enjoy being able to put a string of words together to make a sentiment like I did for this card.  Just place them where you want them and press the block onto them...voila, instant stamp!

I started with a Pear Pizzazz card base which I embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  The cake was stamped with Basic Gray ink on a small square of white cardstock and placed behind the long white strip.  See how the cake is colored?  I did that with a stamp from the Work of Art set...I think this is going to be a must have set like Gorgeous Grunge!  I added a little sparkle with Dazzling Details on the sparklers on the cake!

Let's talk about that large white strip, shall we?  I started by punching out a 1 3/4" circle, then pierced around it.  I stamped the sentiment and added a small scallop trim (with the Dotted Scallop ribbon Border Punch).  I finished it off with three Daffodil Delight punched stars.  The whole strip is put on the card with Stampin' Dimensionals so that it looks like the cake is recessed in behind the white strip.  Fun little technique for a little different spin on a card!

Designer Series Paper Mini Pouches

Happy Thursday everyone!  Today  I have another of my convention swaps to share.  I always have cards to swap, but I really love swapping little 3D projects the most, so I make sure to have some at every event! 

This year I travelled to convention with 3 of my friends and we drove!  It's about a 12 hour drive for us and it's always so fun to road trip with them...so fun that it doesn't really feel like it takes 12 hours!!!!  This year I didn't drive so I prepped my swaps to make in the car on the way!

The only downside is the curvy, mountain roads that we drive on part of the way...beautiful scenery, not so conducive for swap assembly!!!

My inspiration for this project came from my good friend Becky Roberts.  She had posted these darling little pouches on her blog a while back and I fell in love!

The pouch on the left was made with the All Abloom DSP stack, which is what I used for my swaps.  The one on the right was made with the Moonlight DSP stack and is the version my stamp club members did this month.

The pouch is pretty basic and uses 1 full sheet of DSP from the little stacks (so, a 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 piece).  After doing the scoring, folding and sticking, I ran them through the Big Shot with the Finishing Touches Edgelit. I will admit that I bought those Edgelits a loooong time ago and had never used them until this project....rest assured they will be used more now!!!!

Here's a little template I drew up so you can make these super cute pouches at home!

Basically you score at 1, 1 1/2 and 2, 4, 4 1/2 and 5.  Then turn your DSP and score at 1/2". I've marked the parts you need to cut off on the template!  Easy peasy!
